

Gwen attended and graduated Beaver Local High School. Gwen was loved by all who knew her. She loved to entertain her family and friends and never hesitated to share the wisdom she had. Gwen loved to read and watch movies.
Gwen married Kenneth L. Gibson on April 21, 1992. Together they shared a life of serving God in ministry.
As a young girl, Gwen became a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized, beginning her life of servitude. She served in various ministry capacities to include choir member/praise team, music, usher board, nursing and health care ministries. Her passion for sharing Christ with the people she encountered led her to travel throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio. Gwen later moved to Akron and became a member of the Holiness Church of Christ Deliverance Center. With the Lord leading, Gwen moved to Mt Calvary Chapel where she served with her husband Ken. In her later years, Ken and Gwen joined Mountain of the Lord Fellowship culminating her Ministerial License. Lastly, serving with Restoration Kingdom Ministries.
Gwen graduated from Jefferson Technical College with an Associate's degree in Applied Science in 1979; she was certified in Perfusion Technology from Episcopal Hospital School of Perfusion in 1990. Gwen obtained her Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) from Youngstown State University in 2005, passing her Ohio State Board of Nursing to include certifications in Basic and Advanced Life Support. Gwen was a lover of education and stressed the importance of continuing education to everyone.
Gwen had a sincere affection and passion for healthcare. She was an Appeals Nurse Consultant at Aetna, a CVS Health Company.
Gwen was preceded in death by her mother; Stepmother Henri-Jean Tivis; her grandparents George and Moease Tivis; In-laws Robert and Mildred Gibson; Sister-in-law Araina Tivis; Aunt Bernice Tyson; and Cousin Debbie Dorsey.
Gwen leaves to cherish her memory her Husband; Daughters Vanessa and Valinda Brazile; Granddaughters Arianna and Zoe (all of Akron); Stepchildren Kenny Jr (Columbus) Ashley Hodo (Georgia), Ashley Mills and David Mills (Akron). Father Lenwood Tivis; Brother Lenwood Tivis II (all of East Liverpool); Brother-in-law Robert (Lorraine) Gibson (Florida), Sister-in-law Karen (Carl) Ingram (of Akron, OH) and Sisters-in-law Connie Walker and Sherri Pascal (of Florida); Uncle Herman Moxley (Beaver, PA); a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and Sister in Christ Nita A. Chaney (of North Carolina).
