John was born August 11, 1960 and grew up in Tallmadge. He lived his adult life in the Akron area. He was employed most of his life in the construction industry. John was a fun loving person who loved to cook, garden, fish, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a faithful Browns fan, still waiting for the next Super Bowl win.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Cletus Goffinet and his beloved sister Joan Powell. John is survived by his daughter Autumn ( Chris) and grandson Christian; his sisters Violet Thompson, Jane Whelan (Hugh), Elizabeth Brundege (Glenn); brother Mark Goffinet (Judy); brother-in-law Wayne Powell (Donna); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 9th, at 4:00 PM at Unity Chapel of Light 503 Northwest Ave. Tallmadge, OH. A celebration of life will follow, please join us and share your memories. John would love for you to come casual in your favorite Brown’s shirt. Interment took place at Rose Hill Burial Park.
