Our thoughts today are with all the family and friends of my Uncle Mike Stakleff, who is now joined with my Aunt Leppa, my Baba Terpana and my cousin Steve, in Christ. We would like to be with you in-person today were it not for the pandemic and travel restrictions.
Uncle Mike’s memory will be eternal, as he gave so much love and care for his family, friends, St. Thomas Church, and his world. Uncle Mike’s contribution as devoted husband and father is very evident in his children, my cousins: Steve, Alex, Simon and Tommy and their families. He took an interest in all of us, always, and humored us. We will miss him very much, but he remains in our family’s thoughts, as he has all these years of his long and accomplished life.
Uncle Mike was an extraordinary entertainer, very welcoming and generous, always trying to make us smile with a joke, anecdote or comment on current events. He looked for the best girl in the world, my Aunt Leppa, found her with his family, was introduced and came to our Mother Lubitsa’s wonderful Illitch Family, and with their help made it happen, with his marriage.
Our Wojno Family, and our extended relatives also send love and thanks for amazing memories of him, experiences and our togetherness that happened.
From his loving niece Milena, nephew Marc, sister-in-law Lubitsa and brother-in-law Larry Wojno

Dear cousins, Alex, Simon, Tom, Micheal Jr, the Stakleff and Ilitch families at large,
We are very sorry to hear the sad news of our dearest Uncle Mike passing away.
Uncle Mike loved his family dearly and always spoke highly of aunt Leppa bless her soul, his dear four children , their families and his grandchildren. He worked hard throughout his life and succeeded in building a wonderful and loving family which he was proud of.
The beautiful memories we shared with him from our frequent visits to Ohio, Florida and the cruise to Argentina will remain as long as we live. Nobody could tell a funny story like uncle Mike. He loved life and God granted him long life, a lovely family and many friends. He will be missed forever and always.
May he rest in peace at Heaven with Jesus, Steve, aunt Leppa, his five sisters and all the family beloved ones.
Sharing your sorrow at a distance apart, we convey our sincere condolences to you all.
Love, Gaby, Randa and the Haddad family.

I’m so glad I got to meet Mike in 2006, who was a real living legend of the Schtakleff clan. He loved us all, no matter how distant the family ties. I am forever enriched by the time we spent together. I will miss him.

Our heartfelt condolences to all members of the Schtakleff family. Mike was a dear cousin who knew how to enjoy life. He was regularly in touch with all members of the family and passed by us whenever he was visiting Toronto. We will always remember Mike as the smiling and warm face and a joke that was always on the tip of his tongue. He was so proud of his children and the love of his life Lepa who was his rock. The last time we spoke with him was a month before his passing and we felt that he was not the Mike we knew. He felt lonely after losing Steve and Lepa and it was the first time when we heard him cry. Mike, you are now resting in eternal peace with our Lord and united with all your loved ones who preceded you. May your good memory be eternal.
