Preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mary Vilem, and sister, Annette.
Retired after a nearly 40-year career as a teacher and wrestling coach in the Parma City School District, primarily at Normandy High School. In retirement, he enjoyed continuing to golf in the Parma Teachers League, attending Indians games, and going for drives and walks in the park to look for deer. His favorite activity was attending as many of his grandchildren’s academic, sporting, performing arts, and other events as possible. Kind, loving, compassionate, and generous, he readily and happily offered and provided whatever support his family and friends needed.
Described as A Good Soul, A True Gentleman, and Someone to Admire and Emulate. Those lucky enough to have Rich in their lives were truly blessed, and his absence will be heavily felt.
Services will be private.
