

On May 10, 1926, Rosemary (Matthes) Klingenberger was born to Otto and Rose (Seitz) Matthes, joining older brother Robert. She lived her entire life in Akron. She attended Buchtel High School and later completed a secretary training program.
As a member of Zion Lutheran Church, she met fellow member LeRoy Klingenberger. Lee and Rosemary were married on April 29, 1951. The couple moved to the Portage Lakes area where Rosemary had spent many enjoyable summers as a child. She and Lee built a house in 1955, and later adopted two sons, Kenneth, and David. Hope Lutheran Church became their church home. Rosemary served in many capacities in the congregation, including many years on the Altar Guild. Rosemary enjoyed spending time outdoors and the family traveled throughout the United States to camp, fish, ride bicycles, and hike. Rosemary retired from her Zion Lutheran Church secretary role in 1989.
Rosemary was preceded in death by Lee (July 2015) and son Kenneth (May 2015).
She is survived by her son David, daughter-in-law Jean (Kenneth), and grandchildren Rachel, Jared, Adam (Kyla Salomon), and Cassandra, and four great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Rosemary will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 999 Portage Lakes Drive, Akron, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Garden, 2580 Romig Road, Akron, Ohio.
