

Bill was born April 29, 1930 in Bluefield West Virginia to the late William Arthur and Mary Lucille (Stimson) Myles. He graduated in 1948 from Beaver high school in Bluefield, where he played sports and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Bill served four years in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman, serving time at the US Naval Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. He also served on the aircraft carrier, USS Midway CVA-4, in charge of the hospital pharmacy operations.
Bill completed his bachelor of science degree, majoring in chemistry, from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia. Adding additional schooling at The Citadel and University of Akron.
Bill worked as an analytical chemist in Charleston, West Virginia, then decided to take a job with Parke-Davis, now Pfizer, which brought him to Akron, Ohio. He worked 41 years as a pharmaceutical sales representative, covering oce and hospital accounts in the Cleveland, Akron, and surrounding areas.
Bill was married for 56 years to Eleanor O (Pickett) Myles, who preceded him in death in 2016.
Bill‘s passion was golf. During his retirement he enjoyed playing in the Summit County seniors golf league. He loved a well manicured green lawn, with colorful owers. On hot sunny days he could be found sitting in his garage willing to chat with neighbors and passersby. The time he spent with his family and grandchildren were times he cherished. He loved watching football and his beloved Cleveland Indians with a bowl of ice cream.
Bill resided in the village of Silver Lake for 65 years, where he served 23 years on the planning and zoning board, and eight years as a councilman.
Besides his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother James Nelson (wife Ruth) Myles, nephew Rodney Myles, and sister’s Betty Tillery and Phyllis Hoare.
Bill is survived by his brother Bob (Sharon) and nephew Rob Myles St.Albans, West Virginia, daughter, Rebecca (Fred) Amir Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and son Todd (Chris) Myles Huron, Ohio.
Bill was affectionately called “Poppy” by his grandchildren Dustin Myles, Eric Myles (fiancé Callie), Juliana Amir (fiancé David), Miranda Amir (Tony Bukowski) and great granddaughters Nadia and Jordana Bukowski.
Bill always considered himself to be lucky to have lived the life he lived. 94 years,“sharp as tack,” and independent.
