He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin C. Schell and Cleo I. Schell (Lutz); sisters Virginia Daugherty and Beverly A. Messner; and niece Denise Stone.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Veronica L. Schell; children James W. Schell, Sandi L. Jernigan, William P. Schell, Jr., Rebecca J. (Tom) Neilsen; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; also nieces and nephews.
