

Ruby Ruth (Mick) Allbright, 80, of Carmi, IL, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi, Illinois. She was born February 16, 1934, in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil Rico Mick and Helen (Farmer) Mick Decker. Ruby married Henry Horn Allbright on February 2, 1952, and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1979.
Ruby is survived by one daughter, Wanda Sue (Allbright) Steingruby of Carmi; two sons, Henry Wayne (Wendy) Allbright of Madison, WI; Jeffrey Allen (Joyce) Allbright of Carmi; daughter-in-law Marsha Allbright of Tucson, AZ; a sister Patricia Ann (Decker) Bush of Carmi; grandchildren Robert Francis Steingruby II, Robert Lee Allbright, Stacy Lynn (Allbright) Zielke, Jessica Amber (Allbright) Haney, Steven Douglas Allbright II, Joshua Adam Allbright, Jenna Ashley (Allbright) Crouch; six great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, brothers and sister-in-laws.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sons Terry Lee Allbright and Steven Douglas Allbright I; brother-in-law Robert Harmon Bush.
Ruby earned her GED from the State of Arizona on May 12, 1981, at the age of 47. Ruby worked as a CNA at Canterbury Manor in Waterloo, IL and as a home health care assistant through WADI, DOORS, and Community Service for many years. Ruby enjoyed serving others, cooking, spending time with her family, and especially spoiling her Pomeranian--Buttons.
Graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi, IL.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Wabash Christian Retirement Center who cared faithfully for Ruby during the past three and one-half years, and especially during her last few days of life. The family is grateful to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Blue Team East, for their kind and compassionate care.
