Bertie was united in marriage to Ronald “Steve” Foote on July 1, 1989 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Jackson and he survives. Bertie was a God fearing woman of tremendous faith who enjoyed reading, especially her Bible. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She loved flowers and was a fantastic cook. When asked what her family’s favorite dish was, they replied “Everything she made”. She had a heart of gold and would treat strangers with the same love and compassion as her own family. She also had a soft place in her heart for animals, particularly dogs and horses. Bertie was a hard-working woman, working at many places throughout her life, eventually retiring in 1997 from ADCO products in Jackson.
In addition to her loving husband Steve of 33 years, Bertie also leaves children: Lori (Wayne) Lowe, Richie Waychoff, Jennifer (Bill) Walsh; grandchildren: Michael (Tammie) McDaniel, Trevor (Cassandra) Martin, Kyle (Kat) Martin, Sadie (Chad) Smallwood, Christopher Waychoff, Matthew Watkins, Stacey (Pete) Ledesma, Iris (Justin) Banks, 15 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; siblings: Phyllis (Jim) Ross, Shirley (Charles) Flowers, Lloyd Dishman, Kenneth (Janice) Dishman, Barb (Richard) Watson, Judy Heldt and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Bertie was preceded in death by her parents, son Kenneth Waychoff, grandchildren: Paul McDaniel, Kenny Lowe, Josh Waychoff, Heaven Martin and sisters, Sandra and Pat Dishman.
A service to celebrate Bertie’s life will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 11AM at her Church, First Church of the Nazarene, 3905 Clinton Rd., Jackson with Pastor Bryce Gernand officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Church of the Nazarene.
