
Carl H. Mattice, 68 of Homer passed away Sunday March 4, 2012 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born March 28, 1943 in Horton, Michigan to Roy and Gertrude (Petkey) Mattice. He was married to Susan Baker and that marriage ended in Divorce and he later married Darcy Groesbeck in January of 1982 and she survives.
He has been a Hanover-Horton resident for most of his life. He worked for the Railroad in Jackson, and then worked for Hayes-Albion in Jackson for 34 years in Machine Repair until its closing. He later worked for a Security Company based out of Kalamazoo during his semi-retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, camping, his kids and grandchildren.
Besides his wife Darcy of Homer, he is survived by Daughter Lori (Garvel) Owens of Marcellus; Sons Lynn (Lisa) Mattice of Durand; Herb (Ronda) Masters of Marshall; Brian (Penelope) Mattice of Indiana; and Chris (Tsana) Mattice of Homer; (15) Grandchildren; (5) Great Grandchildren; Sisters Betty Urban of Nevada and Mary Worth of Concord; Brother Dorwin (Patty) Mattice of Hanover; Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers Dayton, Everton, and Jim Mattice; Sisters Evelyn Taylor, Louise Mattice and Carol Mattice.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be Thursday March 8, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at the Grace Free Will Baptist Church, 16680 East Michigan Ave., Albion, MI 49224. Funeral Services will be Thursday March 8, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. at the Church with Rev’s Earl Martin, Garvel Owens and Tod Masters officiating. According to his wishes, Cremation will follow the services and the Cremains will be interred at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall.
