Clifford J. Bush, 88, Concord, MI, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016, following a lengthy illness. Son of the late Clifford F. and Frances (Penoyer) Bush, Cliff was born on July 16, 1927, in Quincy, MI. A graduate of Concord High School (1944), he married Alice Beemer on September 18, 1948. He served his country briefly in the Marine Corps, then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #55, a member of the Concord Alumni Association where he served as President and Trustee, and served on the Concord Twp. Board of review.
As a farmer, Cliff had a deep love of the land and his many animals and was almost always in the company of a pet. His life-long passion was driving anything with a wheel, particularly big rigs. He has shared many stories of his adventures hauling cars, steel, and grain. Following his retirement from the road, he worked for 11 years as a motel desk clerk.
Besides his wife of 67 years and their beloved dog, Molly, Cliff is survived by his four children, Laurie (Jack) Lightfoot, Jackson, MI; Linda Rebney, Saginaw, MI; Tim (Madelyn) Bush, Eagan, MN; Dan (Diane) Bush, Monroe, MI; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael, and one brother, Allan Bush.
Cliff is at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, where visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 15, 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Blvd., Albion, Pastor Dennis Matyas officiating. Visitation at the church one hour before service; interment Maple Grove Cemetery, Concord, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
