Conrado Ortiz, age 69 of Albion passed away peacefully under the loving care of his family on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Jackson. He was born February 2, 1949 in Brownsville, Texas the son of Guadalupe and Maria (Garza) Ortiz. On August 6, 1985, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Cypret in Albion and she survives. Conrado worked as a lineman for Consumer’s Energy until his retirement in 2006 and was a member of IBEW Local 17. In addition to his loving wife of almost 33 years, Conrado also leaves to cherish his memory 4 children: Nicole (Marlin) Jackson, Conrado Antonio “Tony” (Brandi) Ortiz, Ricardo “Ricky” Ortiz and Michaela Ortiz, 5 grandchildren: Braylin and Zaviana Jackson, Daryl and Ava Hermosillo and Austin Ortiz, siblings: Manuela Block, Tim G. Ortiz, Maria Martina “Martha” Gonzalez, Maggie Ortiz-James, Ricky Ortiz, Sylvia Valdez and David Ortiz. Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings, Maria Antonia Lopez and Guadalupe “Pete” Ortiz, Jr.
Conrado was a hard worker who always had a smile on his face. He was a strong man of faith who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved playing softball, baseball and enjoyed bowling and shopping.
Conrado’s family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 4-7 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. Services to celebrate his life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM with ApostleTim Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
