Crystal Starr LaFountain, passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 4, 2014. A lifelong resident of Homer, she was born in Marshall, Michigan on March 23, 1977 to Lana Swan and the late Doug LaFountain. She was born with health issues no child should ever have to face. Crystal’s courage and strength from birth were an inspiration to all who knew her. Many more medical hurdles would be placed in Crystal’s path throughout her life, but her determination and will to live carried her over them. Crystal’s happiness was music, all kinds of music. Some of her favorites were KISS, Rob Thomas, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Jackyl. She loved to share her love of a new song or new band with whoever she could and her enthusiasm and passion were contagious. She met many of her Rock N’ Roll idols, collecting autographs and pictures of the stars that brought her so much happiness. In her book of poetry that was published in 2001, many of her poems were dedicated to her favorite rock stars. She loved to travel, to see new places and meet new people. She especially loved New York City. Crystal was a loving and compassionate friend to many, many people. She was dynamic, outgoing, and loved life with all her heart. Her personality lit up any room she was in, like a thousand brilliant stars. Her infectious laugh was much like the music she loved, it brought joy to the many people who loved her. Above all else she cherished each and every one of her family members. They were her strength and comfort. Her faith in God, his ability to heal and the power of prayer got her through many dark days and nights. She will live forever in our hearts and to all she would say PEACE, LOVE , MUSIC
