Debbie Charleane Hayes

Debbie Charleane (March) Hayes age 69 passed away at her home on November 9, 2022. She was born May 20, 1953 in Fayetteville,TN to Ellen (Dyer) and Willie Alve March. She moved to Albion, MI at age 3. Debbie attended the Albion Public School System and Albright Business School. She worked for Albion College, the toy factory, Morgan’s Nursing Home, and State Farm where she retired after 35+ yrs.

Debbie loved reading her bible, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She often spoke of Illya whom she babysat during her teenage years. Debbie will be remembered for her sweet personality and her red velvet cake.

She is survived by her Husband of 48 years Murphy Hayes. Her children Derrick March and Cindy Hayes of Albion MI, her Step-children Dwayne (Sidnie) Robinson of Montgomery, AL and Patricia (Dave) Gardenhire-Lamar of Kalamazoo, MI. Her grandchildren Javier Gardenhire-Austin, DeJanique Hayes, Eric March-Gradoville, Yancy Dobson, Darius Hunt, Xavier Gardenhire-Lamar, Tamia Lamar, Trey March, Josiah March, O’shaya Perry, and Tatiana March. Eight great-grandchildren. Her siblings; sister Connie March and brother Jason March of Albion, MI. Uncles; Coleman (Louise) March of Lynchburg,TN and Charles (Rose) March of Georgia. Aunt Nannie Sue Dyer of Shelbyville, TN. As well as a host of sister-in-laws, and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by parents Willie and Ellen March, brothers Robert A. March and Willie D. March, and granddaughters Makayla March-Gradoville and Dominique Hayes. As well as maternal and paternal grandparents.

Services are scheduled for Friday, November 18th, 2022. Visitation will take place at 11:00 a.m. with service to follow at 12:00 p.m. located at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI 49224. Final interment will take place after services at Albion Memory Gardens, Albion, MI.
