Edward Eugene Sobie Jr, age 66, passed away peacefully at home on January 22. A film and theater buff, Edward enjoyed attending musical theater productions with his closest friends, including his favorite show Jesus Christ Superstar. He developed a love of musicals as a teenager while working at Tibbits Opera House during the summer. He passed that love of theater down to his son, Leer. Edward was a skilled contractor for many years and enjoyed success remodeling homes across Southeast Michigan.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Barbara, and his brother James. He leaves behind three siblings: Debra, Robert, and Michael, his son Leer, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
A gathering to celebrate Edward’s life will be held at Ismon House garden level from 9:30-11:30am on Tuesday, January 27th.
