Elvira Saldaña, age 80, of Albion, Michigan went with God on April 24, 2025. She passed away in the comfort of her home with her daughters by her side. She was born November 21, 1944, in Weslaco, Texas to Fidel and Herminia Alaniz.
Elvira loved her home and taking care of her family. She enjoyed gardening, Mexican shows and music, knitting, cooking, and chatting with her sisters. She had a great sense of humor and was full of laughter. Her best friend and companion was her little dog, Santiago. Elvira was blessed with five grandsons whom she was very proud of.
She is survived by her daughters, Vickie (Gary) Sadger of Albion, MI and Annette (Alfredo) Filoteo of Albion, MI; sisters, Olivia Rodriquez of Sanford, FL and Sara (Catolino) Saldaña of Albion, MI; grandsons, Mario Saldaña of Albion, MI, Jesse (Nicole) Saldaña of Jackson, MI, Alfredo Filoteo of Albion, MI, and Raymond Filoteo of Albion, MI.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lazaro Saldaña, parents, Fidel and Hermina Alaniz, brothers, Juan Alaniz and Jesse Alaniz and grandson, Alex A. Shepherd.
The family will be holding private services.
