

Ernestine Delores (Brown) Saunders, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2017 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, MI. Ernestine was born on April 13, 1931 to the union of Thomas W. Brown and Georgia (Union) Bates in Albion, Michigan.
She married Cleveland Horace Saunders on March 17, 1961 in Albion, MI. He preceded her in death on February 13th in 1978.
Ernestine was a resident of Albion for many years. Through the years she worked as a nurse for Spring Arbor Hospital in Battle Creek, MI. She worked in the plant at the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, MI, and retired from working in food services at Albion College.
Ernestine attended KCC in the early 2000's and took classes in creative writing and English. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Her hobbies included spending time with family, singing, writing short stories, drawing, shopping, and bible studying, and going to church at Bread of Life Ministries in Albion, MI.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Stanley and Willie Brown, nephew Amir Wilson, sister Emmagene White, brother Lester Brown, and nephew Daryl White.
She leaves to cherish in her beautiful memory: Two brothers Emery (Irene) Bates of Albion, MI; Paul (Olivian) Brown of Eustis, FL; One sister Gloria (Scott) Smith of Casa Grande, AZ; One special cousin, Vicki Flenorl; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 12:00PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral
Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion with Pastor Albert Amos officiating. Visitation starting one
hour prior to service at the funeral home.
