Harry Joseph Hawes Jr.

Harry Joseph “Joe” Hawes Jr., age 93 of Eaton Rapids passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Country Acres Adult Foster Care in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. He was born April 26, 1923 to Harry J. and Lois B. (Hall) Hawes, Sr. in Lansing, Michigan.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Joe was an inspector for 23 years at Corning Glass and later worked 10 years with Die Cast. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being able to Pilot.

Joe is survived by: Nephews & Nieces, Nancy (Jerry; dec’d) Squier of Grand Ledge, Larry (Barb) Benjamin of Eaton Rapids, Lois (Keith) Wright of Dimondale, Linda (Jeff) McNamara of Holt,

Kevin Benjamin of Dimondale and Karen (Mark) Dymond of Lansing.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Clawson) Hawes; sisters, Kathleen Hawes and Helen (Kenneth) Benjamin and his Dog- “Patty” Peppermint Patty.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00PM at the

J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, March 13th at 1:00PM at Albion Memory Gardens, 26905 B Drive South, Albion with Father Joe Gray officiating.
