Jack was born in Greenup County, Kentucky, the son of the late Menifee and Louberdia (Sagraves) Allen. He was the tenth of eleven children. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Parma, Michigan, where he spent most of his life in the Homer/Albion area. He graduated from Homer High School.
Jack enjoyed carpentry, bonfires, playing guitar, and singing. He loved hosting “Big Jack’s Karaoke” at Moonraker’s in Marshall, sharing his love of music with anyone willing to listen-or sing along. In recent years, he enjoyed riding around town on his custom golf cart and fishing.
He is survived by his sisters Verna (Lonny) Basham, Loretta Perkins, Polly (Skip) Summa, and Daisy Allen-Wright; his brothers Sam (Brenda) Allen and Ed (Cheryl) Allen; his sister-in-law Ladonna Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Evelyn; and his brothers John, Kindle, and Lacy.
In accordance with Jack’s wishes, cremation has taken place. J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home is honored to serve the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Henry Ford Hospice Home.
