

James “Jim” D. Sims age 86 of Albion passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in Jackson. He was born May 6 1933 in Monette, Arkansas the son of Cecil and Louise (Lusk) Sims. Jim served our country in the National Guard. He married his High School Sweetheart, Jeanette McLeod in Springport on August 9, 1952 and she survives.
Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed living on their farm, fishing, hunting, golfing, playing poker, watching football and westerns, including Gun Smoke and Bonanza.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Hannah Sims, 3 brothers: Ted, Gary and Don Sims, infant sister, Janie Ruth, son-in-law, Grant Gordon.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 66 years, Jeanette; 6 children: Cathy (Greg) Piper of Bangor, Sue Ann Sims of Eaton Rapids, Sandra (David) Dennis of Marshall, Bonnie Williams of Gaylord, Karen (Russ) Colvin of Charlotte, Mike Sims of Burlington, 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, sister, Brenda (Larry) Wheeler, son-in-law, Marvin Williams, daughter-in-law, Tammy Sims, in-laws: Barclay McLeod, Susie (Harold) Tester and Keith McLeod.
According to Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate his life on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2PM at the farm, 2005 Bath Mills Rd., Albion. The family is being served by J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Albion.
