OBITUARIO

Linda Helen Estelle

1 junio , 194831 diciembre , 2020

Linda H. (Carter) Estelle was born June 1, 1948 to the union of Bernard E. And Elizabeth (Lewis) Carter. She was the eldest of six children. Linda transitioned from this life to her new home on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Laurel, Maryland. Linda attended Albion Public Schools, graduating from Washington Gardner High, June 1966. She attended Grand Rapids Junior College for two years majoring in office technology (secretarial skills). Linda enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by siblings, cousins, who were more like siblings than cousins, and four blocks of children on both sides of Center Street as playmates. Life was simple yet sweet. Everybody’s parent was your parent and it took a village and the village function well. Linda was always friendly and had many friends. She could be silly at times catching you off guard with some saying, joke, or antidote. She always greeted everyone with a smile. Her grandchildren will miss her chocolate chip cookies and Rice Krispy treats that she would ship to them for holidays, birthdays, or just because. She was truly a treasure. April 8, 1972, Linda was united in marriage with the love of her life, Steven G. Estelle. This union was blessed with three daughters. At the time of marriage, Steven was on active duty Serving in the U.S., Air Force. The family was blessed to spend 6 years in Germany where the children were exposed to different cultures as they traveled all over Europe. Linda worked while in Germany to broaden her horizons and stay in the loop of military life. Lifelong friendships were formed during this process. Upon returning stateside, the family relocated to the Washington D.C. metroplex. Linda worked at several locations which included Arlington National Cemetery with the Honor Guard and Prince Georges County Independent School District. The School District job proved to be the most fulfilling because she worked with mentally and physically challenged children as a bus aide. She love each child dearly. Linda gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist church under the pastorate of the late Rev. R.V. Davis. Linda was a member of the Cherub Choir, Young Adult Choir and the Junior Usher Board. Sundays were an all-day event. Linda’s membership was later moved to Cornerstone Peaceful Bible Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland under the leadership f Pastor Daniel and Sabrina Mangrum.
