Menas A Wickey

Menas A. Wickey, 78, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep Tuesday morning, November 1, 2016. He was born July 28, 1938 to the late August D. and Emma H. (Schwartz) Wickey. On April 13, 1961 he married Susan N. Schwartz, she survives.

In 1967 Menas was ordained Minister in The Old Order Amish Church near Berne, IN. He ministered the word of God for 49 years until his departure. In 1995 Menas and his family re-located to Michigan. Surviving in addition to his wife are 13 children; Marcus (Susan) Wickey, Ruby (Aden) Shetler, Alan (Sadie) Wickey, Lester (Edna Mae) Wickey, Elsie (Levi) Schwartz, Carol (Mark) Schwartz, David (Margaret) Wickey, Phenis (Mary Ann) Wickey, Bertha (Wilbur) Yoder, Ruth (Wilbur) Yoder, Daniel (Barbara) Wickey, Emma Wickey and Mary Anne Wickey; 86 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren survive, also brothers Corneal (Lena) Wickey and Pheneas (Liz) Wickey; sisters, Susan (John) Schmidt, Lucinda (Daniel H.) Schwartz, Ruth (Dave)

Beachy, Mary (Jake) Coblentz, Delilah (Reuben Miller) and Clara (John) Eicher.

Preceding him in death are 6 grandchildren, his parents and 3 brothers, Daniel, David and Nathaniel.

Visitations will be at Phenis Wickeys residence on Wednesday, Nov. 2nd from NOON to 8:00PM and Thursday, Nov. 3rd from 9:00AM to 8:00PM.

Funeral Service will be at the Mark Schwartz residence at 28483 V Drive South, Homer on Friday, November 4th at 9:00AM. services conducted by Joni Yoder and home ministry. Final resting place in Homer Community Amish Cemetery.
