Patricia Ann Johnson-Leek went to be with the Lord at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, MI on December 26, 2022. She was born October 7, 1950, to Elmore Johnson and Jeanette Showers, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her stepdad Jimmy Showers, brothers James Showers and Richard Showers Sr., Nephews Quinton Williams, Raymon “Ray” Johnson, and Richard Showers (RJ), along with brothers Gregory Johnson, Gary Johnson, Anthony Johnson of New York, and Elmore Jimmie Whittaker.
Patricia is survived by her husband Ronald Leek and leaves to cherish her memory her two sons Rickey (Tiffani) Johnson of Detroit and Deon Johnson of Lansing; grandchildren Destiny Johnson of Lansing, Audreonna Appling of Nevada, and Deon Brown of Texas; great grandchildren, Journey of Nevada and Ava of Texas; Uncle Louis Brown of Maryland; five brothers Gregory (Gwendolyn) Johnson of Georgia, Philip Showers of Albion, Doug Showers of Georgia, Kevin and Michael Johnson of Buffalo New York; eight sisters Kitty (Roy) Peake of North Carolina, Kathy Showers of Battle Creek, Teri Showers of Pennsylvania, Judy (Anthony) Johnson-Moore of Grand Island, New York, Actalee Johnson, Annette Johnson, Susan Johnson, and Kim Johnson of Buffalo New York; special nieces TeSha Perez, Tiffany Showers, Phelicia Showers, and Sernita Peake; special nephew Ryan Showers; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; lifelong friends Joy Faye Caldwell (who preceded her in death) and Hazel Lias of Albion Michigan; and a special sister-in-law Elder Elvarene Showers of Albion who loved and cared for her in a very special way for many years.
Patricia went back to school and completed her education via online classes. She was a dedicated believer of Jesus Christ and ordained as a Missionary. She was an existing member of Bread of Life Ministries of Albion under Pastor Albert Amos, and a former member of Lansing Church of God in Christ under Bishop Samuel Duncan. A few of her prior jobs were at Corning Glass, Hayes Malleable of Albion, Fisher Body of Lansing, and the State of Michigan. Patricia loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When she was going through something, she would say, “Waiting on my change,” and God did just that, guiding her through every time. Hallelujah! She loved to travel. Chicago was one of her favorite places to visit where she loved spending time with family. She later traveled with her sister-in-law Elder Elvarene going to different events and church conferences in Washington, Tennessee, Jamaica, White Cloud in Michigan, North Carolina, and other places. She was a great mother, a strong, single woman raising two sons in the way of the Lord.
A going home celebration will take place on Saturday, January 7th, 2023. Family Hour will begin at 11:00 am with Funeral Service at 12:00 pm. Services will be held at Grace Temple Church, 711 Grace St. Albion, MI 49224
