Robert Hazen Traves

October 20, 2017. He was born on June 26, 1930 to Marie (Butters) and Hazen Traves.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorene Wilson Traves, sisters, Rose Hutchins-Mosher and Myrtle Herron.

Robert grew up around Jonesville and Goose Lake, Michigan area then his family moved to Tekonsha, Michigan. Robert was in the U.S. Marines in the early 50’s stationed in Korea. When Robert returned to the U.S., he was one of three service man to receive three Korean War Medals.

He married Lorene Wilson in 1954 and moved to a farm they bought in 1958, north of Albion. He love the outdoors, hunting, fishing and farming. Robert worked at Union Steel Products of Albion until he retired in 1992.

Robert is survived by his children, Sherry Christopher, Robert A. Traves, James Traves,

Karen Masternak and Robin (Rick) Bryant all of Albion; grandchildren, Melissa Christopher, Amy Christopher, Kayla Christopher, Baklund (Tim) and family, Tristan Bryant, Albrecht (Jessie) and family; Rickey Bryant Jr. and fiancé Stancy Garrett and family and Braxton Masternak; sister, Annebelle Taylor of Union city; sister-in-laws, Lois Allen of Vina, AL and Ruby Wilson of Vina, AL.

According to his wishes, Cremation has taken place and there will be a Memorial Service held at

a later date.
