Tamara was a dedicated educator, teaching English at Washington Gardner Middle School for over 30 years. Her commitment to her students and her passion for education left a lasting impact on the community.
She was married to Ferdinand Johnson, sharing a life filled with love and companionship. Tamara cherished her time spent going out, shopping, and traveling to Las Vegas. She was a social person who enjoyed being around people and friends, bringing joy and warmth to all who knew her.
Tamara Sue Johnson will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, and the positive influence she had on those around her.
She is survived by her husband, Ferdinand Johnson; siblings, Greg Woodard, Robin Harris, and Doug Woodard; son-in-law, Derek Shaffer and grandchildren, Jordan Shaffer and Devin Shaffer.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Shaffer, and parents, Gladys and Ernest Woodard.
Services for Tamara will be held on Monday, February 2nd, 2026. Visitation will take place from 10:00am - 12:00pm at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr. Albion, MI 49224. A funeral service will follow beginning at 12:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Albion, Michigan.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tamara's memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
