

Tom had a deep love for sports, particularly the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan. He was an avid player, participating in football, basketball, baseball, and softball. His passion for sports extended to his work with Stouffer’s, where he played on their traveling softball team and achieved numerous victories in home run tournaments. Tom also enjoyed golfing and fishing, and his musical tastes favored classic rock, with "Stairway to Heaven" being a particular favorite. He enjoyed cookouts and was a master at the grill and was also known to enjoy a few games of Cornhole, winning many tournaments over the years.
Tom married Sherry Ottgen on July 17, 1976, and together they raised their son, Brian.
Tom is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Sherry; his son, Brian; and grandchildren Tyler, Ava, and Miles Kipp. He is also survived by his brothers, Jack and Ron, and sister, Kim. Additionally, he leaves behind brother and sister-in-laws, Mike and Julie Smith, Deb and Tom Thompke, and Shelly Osborn, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Greg, Todd, and Dan Kipp, as well as brother-in-laws, Charles Smith and Tim Osborn.
Tom was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. He was a devoted husband, father, proud Papa, and a faithful friend.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
