Jesse Tylar Garland, age 20, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 20th at home in Maryville, TN. Diagnosed with Autism as a toddler, Jesse faced unique challenges in life, including being non-verbal and requiring help with tasks of daily living. Despite these obstacles, he radiated a gentleness and innocence that touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Jesse was sweet, loving, and full of quiet joy. He adored watching his favorite shows, solving puzzles, and playing with his treasured Hot Wheels cars. His presence brought light to his family, and his pure, humble spirit left a lasting imprint on all who spent time with him.
He is survived by his parents, Timothy Garland and Brandy Jones, and his step-parents Lisa Garland and Danny Jones. He leaves behind his beloved siblings: Niah, Briella, and Elliana Garland, Ashley Federation, Caitlin Woods, and his brother Dalton Jones.
He is also survived by his paternal grandparents and a large, loving extended family—devoted aunts and uncles, and 17 cousins from the Garland, Sword, Mandel, DePalma, and Smith families—as well as many others who held him dearly in their hearts.
Jesse’s innocence, warmth, and gentle spirit will be profoundly missed, but his memory will forever be a blessing to those who loved him.
He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are invited to a Remembrance Gathering to honor the life of our beloved son on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 1:30PM-3:30PM, with a brief reflection to be shared by Pastor Carpenter at 1:45PM. Life Event Center, 601 Smithview Drive, Maryville, TN 37803.
