Preceded in death by her loving husband, Herbert Hill; parents, Luther and Delta Lakins; son, Timothy Cate; sisters, Jean Huskey and Senora DeFord; niece Sherry Nichols; and great-granddaughter, Dixie Lawson.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Connie Smith (Mike Collins), David Smith (Sheridan), Doug Smith (Linda), Gregory Cate and LouAnn Smith; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Ann McDaniel (Etchel), Barbara Cruzenberry, Sheila Dunn, Luther "Sonny" Lakins (Sharon), Gary Lakins and Teresa Sue Wood; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Family and friends will meet at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701 on Saturday, January 30, 2021 for an 11:00 AM Graveside Service officiated by Wayne Roach.
