She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh, in 1995, her daughter-in-law, Caroline, and her step-granddaughter, Erica.
Anne is lovingly remembered by her children, Len (Virginia), Jim (Linda), Bob (Stacie), and Carol (Dean), along with her 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Anne was proud of her roots, having grown up in a large family on a prairie farm in Saskatchewan. In 1952 she married Hugh, and in 1959 they purchased a farm in Cloverdale, B.C. where they raised their four children. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and countless fond memories. Anne had a natural green thumb and took immense pride in her large vegetable and flower gardens. She loved sharing gardening tips and stories with anyone who would listen.
Over her lifetime Anne worked at several jobs. At 15 she moved to Toronto and began a job assembling electric motors for airplanes. She then trained as a hairdresser, working in both Toronto and Vancouver. Later she took a position as a waitress at Woodward’s before beginning her career at Woodlands School, where she started as a dietary aide. Eventually she found her dream job as a seamstress. As a gifted seamstress she crafted cherished outfits for her children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Anne thrived in the company of family and friends, whether over a simple cup of coffee or a hearty meal she would bring to her table. What started as coffee often turned into a 7 course meal, as she delighted in hosting and preparing food for her loved ones. Sundays were special, often filled with family dinners with other relatives and their children. One of her greatest joys was hosting Christmas Eve dinners for her family, upholding her cherished Polish traditions.
A devout Catholic, Anne lived a life of warmth, generosity, and faith. She always put her family first, creating a legacy of love, togetherness, and unwavering support that will carry on for generations.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Zion Park Manor for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Anne.
