It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gladys "Babe" Farmer. Born and raised in Vancouver B.C. by her grandparents, then her aunt & uncle. Survived by her husband Ron of almost 70 yrs. , sister Billie (katie), son Rick, daughter Lynnea, grandchildren Kristen & Jesse, great grandchildren Joshua, Nicholas & Abigail. Along with many others referred to as family.
Gladys "Babe" loved working because she loved people. She spent a good majority of her life running the concession and souvenir booths at Mission Raceway. "She could sell ice to an Eskimo" many would say! She loved Christmas and donating to less fortunate families and passed that along to her kids and grandkids. When not working she loved gardening and shopping (usually buying things for others). She was kind and generous to a fault, understanding and caring whether you were family or not. She always said "there's always room for one more at the table" and there very often was one more. Anyone who knew her is better off for it and knew how lucky they were to have her in their lives. She could make the sun shine brighter! She was well known for her response when asked how she was. Her answer was always "good for another day" or "I'm on this side of the grass". She had a great sense of humor. She touched so many lives with her kind smile and warm heart ... and will be missed by anyone that met her.
