John Romanow

John Married Dora in 1969 and developed close relationships with her two grown children Gary Parker (Ann) and Donna Mayoh (Cliff). Within a few short years he became a grandfather to (in order) Craig, Debra, Cari, Kevin and Christine. He was blessed to have many great-grandchildren that all cared for him dearly. He loved family get-togethers and his smile always showed the joy he had in connecting with everyone.

He was predeceased by his Brother Bill and his sister Ann. He enjoyed his relationship with his nephew Shane Kuffner (Jessica) and Niece Carla Petterson (Daci) along with their children.

While John was a kind and happy presence in the lives of his family he also enjoyed gathering with good friends to shoot billiards at the Bonsor Centre. His great love though was spending time at the horse racetrack. John became a club 2 horse owner which gave him great pride. These activities kept him busy after a life-long career as an engineer for the CNR.

We will miss you John. Thanks for the wonderful memories and leaving us all with the imprint of your simple, warm smile.

We would like to thank Donna for the constant and loving care she gave to both John and Dora for many years. Her care of John after Dora’s death was meaningful for them both, and for all of us. We would like to thank the Oxford Care Home for their kind and supportive approach to John’s care. We would also like to thank the Menno Care home for helping John in his end of life transition.
