Pearl Polson

Pearl is survived by her Daughter, April Koman (Edgar, Leland) and Grandchildren Josh Murty, Mackenzie Burridge & Ana Ortega, Step Daughter Gail Williams and Step Sons Wayne Polson (Anne) and Cameron Polson, Sister Edna Stroulger, Niece Fae Debeck (Dave) and Nephew Neal Stroulger (Genevieve).

Pearl was born on December 27, 1935 to Mae and George Johnston in Victoria, BC. She grew up in Deep Creek and Enderby, BC then moved to Vancouver when she was 15. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on July 10, 1954 where she served as a Fighter Control Operator in Comox BC until November 18, 1957. She moved back to Vancouver after she was discharged where she met and married John (Johnny) Koman. Pearl lived in Vancouver until 1990 and then moved back to Enderby where she met Morris Polson. They were married on June 22, 1992 and lived a joyful life together until Morris’s passing on March 13, 2008. Pearl then moved back to the Lower Mainland, residing in Abbotsford BC from 2009 until her passing.

Pearl was a brilliantly creative and talented woman. She was always creating some sort of art, be it painting, crafting, sewing or knitting. She was a lover of music and was an incredible dancer. To see her on the dance floor was to watch pure joy in action. You always knew when she was around because she was always whistling or humming a tune. Her laugh was infectious and her sense of humor was un-paralleled. She was so very kind and affectionate and a deeply devoted Mother, Grandmother and Friend. When she loved, it was with every fiber of her being and if you were lucky enough to be on the receiving end of her love, you knew it was limitless.

To sum up the life of this incredible woman in just a few paragraphs is impossible. For those who were fortunate enough to know her, you understand. She will be forever missed and loved and the sun shines just a little less brightly without her.

A Celebration of Pearls Life will be held on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023 at 12pm at Lakeway Gardens, 2410 Emerson Street, Abbotsford, BC
