Arthur Wesley Henriksen, beloved father, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the age of 84. Art passed surrounded by family at his daughter Carolyn Jaros’ home. He was born on November 27, 1939, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Elmer and Wanda Henriksen. In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn Henriksen; as well as his brother, Sid Henriksen.
Art married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Griffin, 65 years ago in 1959. His family was his priority. He was the consummate sportsman, excelling at anything he tried. He loved baseball, tennis, and golf. Like most Arkansans, he was a diehard Razorback fan. He loved Oaklawn Park and was known for his handicapping abilities. He was a true Arkansas Traveler, driving roads all over Arkansas as a respected furniture salesman.
Those left to cherish his memory include brother, Rick Henriksen of Maumelle; his three children, Diane Butler (Mike) of Jacksonville, Fla., Carolyn (Cupie) Jaros (Dr. J. Phillip Jaros), and Wes Henriksen (Kristy), all who reside in Little Rock; 5 grandchildren, Blake Jaros (Laura) of Memphis, Tennessee, Hunter Jaros and Madison Jaros of Little Rock, and Elizabeth and Chelsey Butler of Jacksonville, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Sawyer, Brooks Becka, Aspen Brickel of Jacksonville, Florida.
A private internment is scheduled for Monday, November 25. In lieu of flowers, please support his chosen charity Wounded Warriors, Trinity Methodist Church, or a favorite pet rescue in Art’s honor.
