

Bobby Gene Henley passed away in Little Rock, AR on June 30, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bobby was born on October 14, 1950 to Woodrow and Pearl Henley in Marianna, Arkansas. He was a slow talking, hardworking man that could make something from nothing. He believed in hard work, and taught his boys to do the same. As a young man, Bobby worked the farm in Lonoke from daylight to dark to provide for his family. Later on, he worked in the mobile home industry for 40 years, hauling homes all over the country with his sons, and building mobile home parks.
Bobby loved to hunt for deer and coons. He coon hunted competitively, going all the way to the coon hunting World Championship. He was an avid horseman. Sitting tall in the saddle, he competed in team penning events all over the country. Bobby loved going to the casino and often came back a winner. Most of all, Bobby loved his family fiercely. Everything in his life centered around them. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids. Bobby was always there to celebrate their accomplishments and help them when needed.
Bobby is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Henley; parents, brothers, Jerry Henley, Terry Henley. He is survived by his sons, Chris Henley (Brandi) of Batesville, Johnny Henley (Teresa) of Alexander, and Dennis Henley (Christie) of Malvern; stepson, Bud Purdom (Sharlee) of Salem; stepdaughters, Stephanie Williams of Alexander; Laura Purdom of Little Rock; and Melissa Letson of Alexander; sisters, Linda House (Johnny) of Sheridan, Shirley Harper of Sheridan; brother, Mike Henley (Renetta) of Lonoke; eleven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, the mother of his children, Cherry Ripley of Malvern, and a host of family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday July 8, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home (7401 AR-5 Alexander, AR 72002). Funeral service will be on Tuesday July 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Pinecrest Funeral Home with burial following at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Allen McKown, Doug Volkman, Skip Davidson, Charlie Dinger, Jason Carter, Larry Bradshaw, Tracy Henley, and Johnny House. Honorary Pallbearers are Roy Huddle, Greg Henley, Pat Henley, Terry Young, and AJ Hixon.
