

Faheem Munir (formerly Remulus Henry), 77, of Sherwood, AR, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026. Born on April 7, 1948, in North Little Rock, AR, to Luther and Dorothy Henry. He was a graduate of Scipio A. Jones High School, class of 1966, and a proud Jones High Dragon. Afterward, he graduated from AM&N (UAPB) in Pine Bluff, AR.
In 1973, he moved to Chicago, IL, where he began a successful 42-year career as a structural engineer with Christian Roth & Associates. Faheem was a highly respected and favored employee with the firm.During his tenure, he contributed to the design of bridges across the United States and internationally. He also had a passion for blues and gospel music. He channeled this energy into working as a disc jockey for radio station WHPK 88.5 AM in Chicago. From 1985 to 2015, he hosted the “Arkansas Red’s Blues Excursion Show,” consisting of blues and gospel music and humorous conversations with his listeners. He adopted the moniker “Arkansas Red” in honor of his beloved home state.The show was so popular that Faheem became a celebrity with a devoted fan base not only in Chicago but also across the nation and around the globe. He rubbed shoulders with numerous celebrities, music icons, and political dignitaries f rom blues legend Johnnie Taylor to civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson. He even conducted an exclusive interview with Emmitt Till's mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, on June 15, 2002.
In 2015, Faheem retired and returned home to his Arkansas roots to be close to his family, whom he dearly loved. Affectionately known as “Ricky” among family and f riends throughout North Little Rock, he had cherished memories of growing up on Cherry Street under the tender guidance of his mother, Dorothy, and his father, Ruben Harper, Sr., a man whom he loved, honored, and respected.
Faheem is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Harper-Wilson; his father, Luther Henry; his father, Ruben Harper, Sr.; and his siblings, Ruben Harper, Jr., twin brother Romulous Henry, Sandra Pearson, and Jo Pamelon Isbell. He is survived by his dear and special f riend, Valorie Isom; his daughter, Chiquita Chanay; his son, Faheem Munir; his granddaughters, Ruqayya and McKenzie; his sisters, Brenda Harper- Charles, Sharon Harper, Rena Harper, Robyn Ollison, Lisa Cork (Malik), and Lori Ben; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Faheem Munir will perhaps be most remembered for his generosity, unwavering devotion to family, his love of catfish (fried hard!), and his habit of sending texts at all hours of the night. Even if he talked to you twenty times a day, he would end every phone call by saying “I love you”, which he truly meant from his heart.
