Henry “Hank” Wayne Burroughs, 71, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away June 30, 2021. Hanks’ passing was unexpected; but we know he is grateful to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Hank was born July 22, 1949 in Independence, Kansas to George Hubert and Gladys M. (Perry) Burroughs.
Hank served proudly in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. He then went on to work for the North Little Rock Electric Department and retired from there as well. Hank was a patriotic American and loved celebrating our nation’s birthday on the 4th of July. His other favorite holiday was Christmas where he enjoyed singing and sharing the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Hank was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and friend to all. Hank had a giving spirit and wanted to help whomever he could. Hank enjoyed most, spending his time with his grandkids, family & friends, and volunteering with church and Galilean youth group. Hank attended Village Creek Baptist Church where he did not like to miss a service. Even when traveling, Hank attended churches locally. His heart's desire and life’s mission was to be a servant of Christ and to share the gospel message with all he loved and everyone he met. Hank loved spending time with his family and had recently returned from a trip to Montana with his Son, daughter in law and three grandsons, Evan, Wyatt and Luke; where they had visited and he attended his first grandson, Taylor’s high school graduation. Hank enjoyed traveling by car with his family. He did not miss a chance and spent nearly every weekend in Arkadelphia and attended all band concerts, football games and such events of his grandchildren in Arkadelphia.
There are innumerable people left behind to cherish his memory, but he is survived by his daughter, Katrina; Son and daughter-in-law Ross and Amanda Burroughs; son-in-law Jim Nelson. His beloved grandchildren are Taylor Nelson, Evan Burroughs, Luke Burroughs, Nathan Nelson, Wyatt Burroughs, Kirtsyn Nelson, and Gordon Nelson. His surviving brothers include Bob Burroughs (and Deanna), David Burroughs, and Chuck Burroughs and all their children.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents George and Gladys and a brother George Burroughs, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Village Creek Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 am, Monday July 12, 2021 at Pinecrest Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 am at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
