Jean Alpe West, of Little Rock, a loving Christian woman, passed away on May 21,2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 8th, 1936, in Lake Village, AR, to the late Andrew and Stella Alpe. Jean was the second of their six children. She was preceded in death by her late husband William "Bill" A. West; sister, Sylvia Alpe Haynie; and brothers Andrew Alpe Jr. and Edward Alpe.
She is survived by her loving and special nephew and niece, who were her caregivers, Scott and Mitzi MacFarlane of Little Rock; brother David Alpe (Mary Jane) of Malvern; brother Don Alpe (Peggy) of Bryant; two step children Wynne Prager (Ben) of Austin, TX and Keith West (Debbie) of Little Rock; three step grandchildren, and many loving cherished nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and their beautiful families.
She was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church. You would often find Jean with a rosary in hand. She worked hard all of her life in her jobs, at church, in the community, and revealing her faith in Christ in all she did. Jean enjoyed entertaining and helping others. Jean was an inspiration and made a positive impact on many people who love her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 28th, 2021 at Christ the King Catholic Church with her rosary starting at 9:45 am and Mass starting at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Alexander, AR. Memorials may be made in Jean's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Christ the King Catholic Church - Little Rock or Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church - Lake Village, AR.
