

Jimmie Sue Howell, age 95, of Antoine, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. She was born on June 12, 1929, to the late John E. Riley and Verlie Vivian Malone. In addition to her parents, Jimmie Sue is preceded in death by her husband, CR "Nick" Howell Jr.; and sisters, Janis R. Latta and Ilena Spradlin.
She was an amazingly hospitable and devoted Christian mother and homemaker whose heart was forever intertwined with her beloved fellowship at Mabelvale Church of Christ. She embraced her adventurous spirit by becoming a world traveler, a journey she embarked on to keep in touch with family who had moved away. Following the passing of her dear husband Nick, she demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience by singlehandedly carrying on the family horse barn business in Alexander, Arkansas—a testament to her unwavering determination and independent spirit. While living in Alexander, she was a constant source of love and guidance to her grandchildren, always ready to take them to numerous activities and help enrich their lives. Jimmie Sue’s life was defined by her deep faith, nurturing love, and remarkable perseverance, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and enduring grace that will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Theresa Gale (Larry) Bittle and Susie (Rick) Brown; siblings, Patsy Teagarden, John A. (Ruth Ann) Riley, and Donna (Bob) Fugitt; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Bryant, Mandy (Mark) McDougal, Julie (Jared) Morris, Ricky Brown, Jessica (Brandon) Barganski, Luke (Abby) Brown, Jacey (David) Miranda, and Alfonso Bittle; great-grandchildren, Hayden Brown, Carter Bryant, Ethan Bryant, Lexi Brown, Merrick McDougal, Jillian Morris, Landen Brown, Laci Bryant, Marley McDougal, Jayden Morris, Lorelei Barganski, Hunter Brown, Liam Barganski, Linden Barganski, Mabry McDougal, Everett Brown, Patrick Brown, Nicholas Brown, Graham Brown, and Daniel Miranda; as well as many other beloved family members and friends.
A visitation for Jimmie will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 HIGHWAY 5 N, ALEXANDER, AR 72002, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
