Romeo Hicks (RH) Morrow went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2026. He was 92 years old. RH was born in Forest City, North Carolina and grew up playing golf with his five brothers before joining the Air Force and was stationed at Jacksonville Air Force Base. He met his wife, the former Marion Reed, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, which became a focal point of their life. They were married 64 years and raised three beautiful daughters. Together they served as Sunday school teachers and faithfully sang in the church choir. RH was a long time Deacon. He and Marion also volunteered at the Lions Club and RH was a member of The Gideons International. During their time together they moved to Ohio and helped plant a church before returning to Arkansas.
Aside from his family and the church, RH loved the game of golf. He qualified and played in the U.S. Amateur and later the U.S. Senior Amateur at the age of 61 in 1994. He was the Club Champion at every country club where he was a member and served as the golf professional at Stuttgart Country Club. RH was happiest teaching others the game, giving greenskeepers advice, building custom clubs, and tinkering with golf carts.
After Marion’s death in 2021, RH married Betty Finley in 2023. Together they played golf, competing in and winning couples’ events until his death.
RH is survived by his sister Jackie Hutchins, wife, Betty Finley, his daughters, Melissa Aulds (Steve), June Thomas (Jeff), and Karen Torres (David); grandchildren, Ashley Fogg (Peter), Lauren Payette (Scott), Reed Thomas (Olivia), Mary Claire Dowden (Mitchell), Paxton Thomas (Drew), Blake Torres (Charlotte), Bryan Torres (Hannah); and great grandchildren, James, Madison and Alexander Fogg, Henry and Leah Payette, Ford, Margot and Madeline Thomas, Thomas Dowden, and Charles and Cooper Torres.
In addition to his parents, Michael Hoke Morrow and Betty Proctor Morrow, RH was preceded in death by his brothers Donald Ray Morrow, Michael “Whitey” Morrow, Charles “Bub” Morrow, Charles “Heavy” Morrow, and Eugene “Bookie” Morrow, as well as his sister Vivian Hamrick.
A service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM with a visitation starting one hour prior at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Baptist Church. Memorials in memory of RH may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, Little Rock.
