

On March 12, Charlotte Rexroad entered into eternal rest in heaven while surrounded by her two sons, Chuck and Martin. Charlotte was born October 21, 1938, in Cumberland, MD and raised in Flintstone, MD. She graduated from Flintstone High School in MD and then attended Catherman’s Business School. She had a long, successful career with the US government providing administrative support at the US Department of Agriculture, the FBI, US District Attorney’s Office, and US Magistrate’s Office. She retired as a Legal Administrative Assistant to a US District Judge. After marrying Charles Rexroad in 1957 and moving to Alexandria, VA, Charlotte was a dedicated Mom raising her sons while working as a physical therapy assistant and a day school teacher at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Charlotte gave to the community through leadership and service roles at Aldersgate UMC, and by volunteering at schools, scouting, and at Mount Vernon hospital where she also served as president of the hospital auxiliary. Charlotte’s Christian faith was her guiding light. Charlotte is predeceased by her devoted husband Charles Rexroad and her brother, Bill Hout. She leaves behind sons Chuck (Polly) and Martin (Shari), three grandchildren, Matthew (Diqin), Michael and Christine, sister-in-law Rita Hout, nephews Steve (Lisa), Darrell (Beth), Wayne, and her extended family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choosing.
A Visitation will take place on Friday, March 22nd from 4:00pm through 8:00pm at Demaine Funeral Home in Alexandria, VA. A Funeral Service for Charlotte Rexroad will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, located in Alexandria, VA at 9 a.m. A Graveside Service will follow at the Hillcrest Burial Park cemetery located in Cumberland, MD at 2:30 p.m.
