

Jerome (Jerry) Harold Zevin (age 85)of Alexandria, VA died on Friday July 24, 2015. He is survived by his son Frederick Zevin, his daughters Michele (Shelley) Zevin Sandler and Johanna Bowman, his grandchildren Brooke Sandler, Dara Sandler O’Conner, Benjamin Zevin, Abigail Zevin, Abigail Rierson, Vivien Rierson and his great grandson Trent Lee O’Connor. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Zevin McCloskey. Jerry was born June 17, 1930 in New York, New York. He graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School, fought for his country in Korea and later became the proprietor of Shylocks Hair Salon in Old Town Alexandria. He will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and his love of fine dining, offshore fishing, and dancing. He taught his children the joy of a great book, good food, and bad jokes. He lived his life to the fullest, without regrets. At his request, no service will be held. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.
