Josephine Anne Soper

It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine (Josie) Anne Soper, age 74, announces her passing on May 20, 2019. Josie passed away peacefully at home. She was the beloved wife of Charles William Soper of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; mother of Sasha Elliot Soper (Michelle); grandmother of Vivien Helen Soper; beloved sister of Carolyn Massino of Bethany Beach, Delaware and Frank Cappello (Lenore) of Bradenton, Florida; and dear family friend of John Stumpf. Josie is predeceased in death by one brother John. A native of Washington, DC, Josie spent more than 42 years at NASA, working in the News Room, Legislative Affairs and as the Executive Assistant in the Office of the Administrator where she served six NASA Administrators. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28 from 6-8 pm at the Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St, Alexandria, VA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 29 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3rd and F St., NW, Washington, DC.
