On the morning of April 29, 2025, the world lost a bright and beautiful soul. Justine Nichole Green, just 31 years old, left this world unexpectedly at her home in Woodbridge, Virginia. Though her departure was sudden, the light she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her will never dim.
Born on October 11, 1993, in Alexandria, Virginia, Justine was unforgettable from the start. Whether you knew her as “Punk,” “Pumpkin,” “Chicha,” “Girl”, or simply Stine, she left her mark. Her childhood was filled with laughter, family, and faith that would anchor her for the rest of her life.
She grew up in Alexandria and graduated from T.C. Williams High School—now known as Alexandria High School. After graduation, she explored several career paths and eventually found herself working at Dignity Memorial. No matter the job, she brought with her a spirit of kindness, curiosity, and connection. People gravitated toward her warmth, her wit, and her magnetic energy. To know Justine was to love her. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and gave everything she had to the people who mattered most. Her passing has left a space that words can’t fill, but her memory lives on—in stories, in laughter, in love.
She believed deeply in Jesus Christ and found purpose and peace in her relationship with Him. As a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Woodbridge, VA she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age—a commitment that gave her strength through life’s ups and downs. In recent years, Justine had been intentionally working to grow closer to God, deepening her spiritual walk and seeking a more personal connection with her faith.
But beyond her faith, it was Justine’s fierce spirit that defined her. We often called her our “Wild Child”—a nickname that captured her perfectly. Always dancing to the beat of her own drum which was always off beat! Whether she was laughing too loud or telling stories that made everyone cry with laughter, she was the heartbeat of every room she entered. So full of life and spirit. Never a dull moment. She would sweep in like a gust of wind and sweep out just the same. Her passing has left an unimaginable void in the lives of those who knew her.
Justine was also a giver. She was the kind of person who showed up, who listened, who helped—always putting others before herself. Her bubbly personality and generous heart made her beloved by friends, coworkers, and neighbors. In recent years, she found a new passion in cooking—she could spend hours experimenting with spices and herbs, pouring love into every dish.
Her greatest joy, beyond any doubt, was being a mother. Bryce, her beloved son, was her world. Her face lit up in his presence, and her entire being radiated love whenever she held him close. To see Justine with Bryce was to witness the purest form of joy and devotion.
Justine is survived by the greatest love of her life, her son, Bryce and her parents, Kim DeShields-Green and Sherwood Green. She also leaves behind a large and loving extended family—two sisters (Jasmine and Jaylah Green), aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who cherished her deeply and who will forever carry her spirit forward.
