Kellianne Yvette Tomlinson entered into her eternal rest on Wednesday July 25, 2018 after suffering a long term illness.
Kellianne was born July 8, 1991 in Alexandria VA to Karl and Kaolin Tomlinson. She attended Woodley Hills Elementary, Walt Whitman Middle and Mount Vernon High Schools. She was consistently an honor roll student and was recognized for many special achievements. She graduated from Mount Vernon and was accepted at the University of Virginia where she continued her tertiary education. As many know, UVA is not an easy school to get accepted to, but as soon as her application was received, she was sent a letter asking her to consider UVA as her first choice. UVA was very impressed with Kellianne’s achievements. She graduated from UVA in May 2016 with a degree in Russian and East European Studies with a Minor in Religious Education with a concentration in Buddhism.
Even though she was aware of the severity of her illness she persevered to receive her diploma while in a wheelchair. Her ambition to be an OBGYN was always her passion which she never gave up on.
Kellianne was a child of such beautiful spirit inspiring everyone she met with her nonjudgmental attitude, calmness and love for Jesus Christ. She lived an exemplary life of Christianity. She was born and raised in Wesley United Methodist Church. As in her academic life, Kellianne was very active in her church. She served in many capacities as acolyte, lector, committee member, choir member and delivered the message on a Youth Sunday when she was in elementary school. She participated in mission trips including one to Pascagoula, Mississippi to assist Hurricane Katrina victims as a member of the youth group.
Benevolence was a great part of her life.
Family gatherings were Kellianne’s favorite events. She was always the one who planned the holiday meals and contributed by making several dishes. She enjoyed baking. She loved to eat and requested that her Repass be one where there would be enough food for everyone. She wanted this day to be a fun-eral, a happy occasion, as all of the pain and discomfort are gone and she is at peace with her Lord. She reassured her family that she was ready.
With her caring and loving disposition she would ensure that her mother took her medication even when she was a child away from home. She was an advisor to her older sister, Candice. She loved Candice very much and her happiest moments were when they were together.
Even though her time here with us was brief, Kellianne accomplished much. She was kind, compassionate and dedicated herself to helping others. Her beauty reached beyond the physical and all who knew her knew the peaceful angelic spirit that beamed from her, especially when she smiled.
Kellianne leaves behind to cherish her memories and love: mother, Kaolin Yvette Tomlinson; father, Karl Patrick Tomlinson; second mother, Rosemarie Ball; sisters, Candice Tomlinson and Patrece Tomlinson (Tyrone); brother, Dave Tomlinson; aunts: Deborah Scott, Maxine Daniel (Rodney), Patti-Anne Lyttle; Uncles: Wellesley E.
