Lawrence Eugene Carroll Jr.

Born in Alexandria, VA, on March 8, 1960, Larry will be greatly missed by his longtime partner, Darlene Burke, her son Christopher, his wife Carmen, and their daughter Athena, who called him “Poppie”. Larry is also survived by his sister Joni (and husband Paul), and brothers John (wife Kecia) and Ted (husband Marcelo), and nephews Matthew and Shane (wife Bethany), great-nephew Myles, and great-niece Lilly.

Larry was a student at Groveton High School in Alexandria, VA, and served in the Army, he then went on to earn a degree in engineering from North Carolina State University. Larry enjoyed a highly successful career with WRIT, Folger Pratt, and Bozzuto Group – major real estate companies that tremendously benefited from his expertise.

Larry was passionate about, owned and successfully raced a number of thoroughbred horses. In addition, he adopted numerous rescue bulldogs, and was a loyal fan of the Washington Capitals and Redskins!

A Memorial Service will be held on December 9, 2025, at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 Washington St , Alexandria VA 22314 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local bulldog rescue group.
