

Maureen Patricia (Kelly) Wunderlich, Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on March 12, 2024. She was born on December 21, 1939, to William Joseph Kelly and Katherine Margaret (Herron) Kelly in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from St. Wendelin’s Catholic High School in 1957.
After graduating high school, Maureen met her beloved husband, Gilbert Wunderlich. They were married on September 16, 1961, at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church. She was a loving and devoted mother to two children, Mary Katherine, and Eric Gilbert.
Maureen started her career as a Bank Teller at Mellon Bank and later became a Special Aide Assistant at Bethel Park High School in Pittsburgh. After moving to Coral Springs, Florida, she was an Insurance Adjuster for the Amica Insurance Company. She ended her career working as a Dental Assistant for a periodontist for 10 years in Coral Springs.
Maureen enjoyed volunteering at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Coral Springs where she was a eucharistic minister and was responsible for preparing the altar for the eucharistic adoration. Maureen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and meeting new people. She also enjoyed reading and taking long walks.
Maureen was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert Wunderlich, and her parents, William, and Katherine Kelly. Maureen is survived by her daughter, Mary Katherine (Wunderlich) Cadden and son-in-law, Peter Cadden; son, Eric Gilbert Wunderlich and daughter-in-law, Stephanie (Perry) Wunderlich; her four grandchildren: Devin (Cadden) Dolgiej; Joseph Cadden; Mackenzie Wunderlich; and Evan Wunderlich; and her two great grandchildren, Benjamin, and Fiona Dolgiej.
Maureen will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. Her warm smile and gentle nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She never met a stranger.
A funeral mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Alexandria, Virginia on Monday, April 8, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00 followed by a mass at 10:30 a.m.
