Alejandro Ramirez, 100, of Forest City, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He fell asleep in the arms of our Heavenly Father after a life beautifully lived, one filled with faith, love, and selfless service to others.
Alejandro was born in Corinto, Nicaragua, on May 3, 1925, to Francisco Ramirez Ocon and Laura Villalobos Sandino. As a young man, he worked with his affluent uncle in Chinandega in agriculture, livestock, and commerce involving oranges, sugar cane, cotton, and bananas. He was also enrolled for military duty, though he did not serve in any wars.
In 1951, Alejandro was brought to New York City by his aunt, Isabel Baker, to study and build his life in the United States. He married in 1955 and welcomed his first daughter, Laura Buruca, on June 3, 1956. On December 16, 1956, he remarried Olga Ramirez in Greenwich, Connecticut, and together they had two children, Iliana Alexandria Brown, born on May 3, 1963, and Francisco Ramirez, born on May 16, 1967. In September 1971, Alejandro relocated his family from New York to Orlando, Florida.
Alejandro became a born-again Christian when he found his faith in God and was baptized in 1967 at Broadway Church in New York City. A special thank you is extended to Pastor Conrad Visser. After relocating to Forest City, Florida, he became a longtime member of Forest Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he lived out his faith strongly each and every day.
He worked in facilities management within the multifamily sector and later in government-contracted work with Orange County, where he made a big impact and received awards for his hard work. He made dear friends wherever he went and took great pleasure in helping anyone in need, whether at work or outside of it.
Beyond being a loving husband and father, Alejandro’s true passion and dedication were found in serving his community, his church, and his fellow man, as well as in sharing the Gospel with those who did not yet know God, His love, and His eternal plan.
He was proud to be a husband and father. He always encouraged his children to be involved in all types of activities that would strengthen their character and individuality. He loved traveling throughout the State of Florida, exploring and making memories with his family. He also made sure to be a good neighbor and friend to all around him, providing a second home to anyone who needed or wanted to come by.
He will be remembered for giving more than he ever took, quietly sacrificing for those he loved, and drawing unwavering strength from his faith and love. With his gentle, big, beautiful smile that came straight from his heart, his interesting conversations on all kinds of topics, his laughter, and his humor, he brought light and warmth to those around him. He welcomed all into his home with warmth and kindness, offering hope to the weary and reaching the unreachable through deep spiritual guidance, always giving praise to God for it all.
Alejandro is survived by his children, Laura Buruca, Iliana Alexandria Brown, and Francisco Ramirez; his grandchildren, Shirley Buruca, and Samuel Buruca; his great-grandchildren, Maya Elise Rivera, and Eliana Mila Buruca; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 90 Weathersfield Avenue, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E. His life will be remembered for his integrity, selflessness, love, friendliness, and for being a faithful and loving husband and father.
“Remember to put your faith in what truly counts, which is God. Nothing else matters.”
