

Dorothy Rose Williams Brooks, 93, of Altamonte Springs, Florida passed away on July 6, 2021. Born March 14, 1928 to the late Nathaniel and Mary (Pinkett) Williams. Dorothy graduated from St. James High School and then attended Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dottie received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was on staff at Flint Goodridge Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Dottie then married Allen H. Brooks in 1953 to this union 3 children were born, Michael K. Brooks, Paul G. Brooks, and Leslie E. Brooks Harris. She was a staff nurse at Mount Sinia Hospital in Manhattan, New York.
After the children were born, she became mostly a housewife but did do per diem on weekends at Elmhurst General Hospital in Queens, NY. After Allen retired they moved to Oviedo, Florida and were members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. After moving to Altamonte Springs they transferred their membership to Annunciation Catholic Church as of now. Dorothy was an avid tennis player and spectator of the sport. Dorothy was known for her kind and giving spirit by all those who were lucky enough to have met her. She will be truly missed.
Dot is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Allen H. Brooks (2004). She leaves to mourn Michael K. Brooks, Paul (Carol) Brooks and Leslie (Eric) Brooks Harris; grandchildren Danielle Geiger, Steven Brooks and Thalia Harris; sisters Essie Cyriaque and Mary Collins.
A visitation will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, July 14 at Baldwin-Fairchild West Altamonte Chapel followed by a service at 3pm which will also be available through Livestream for those who may not be able to travel. She will later be joined with her beloved husband Allen at Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
