

Green, George Born in Homewood, Alabama, November 2, 1927. Died Sunday, November 16, 2014. Only child of mother, Diamond Russell (Tidwell) Green and father, George Hunter Green. George Marion Green graduated from Hewett High School in Trussville, Alabama and joined the Navy in June of 1946. He spent six years on active duty, and was discharged in 1952 as a Chief Electronics Aviator Technician after graduating from electornics school in San Fransisco, CA. George spent four years in the Naval Reserve. While in the Reserve, he attended Auburn University where he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering. George went on to receive a masters degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Florida in Gainesville, and received another masters degree in Physics, at Rollins College, Winter Park, FL in 1969. George married Ruby Lee (Lockhart) Green in 1952 (deceased). They had four daughters; Elva Schweitzer, deceased (Garth), two children: Tara and Austin; Donna Hall (Randy) - two children: Kevin and Sara; Laura Rankin (Fred); Marian Bennett (Troy): two children: Max and Emily. George worked for from 1960 to 1992. Twice while employed with Lockheed Martin, he recieved the honor of being named inventor on the year. In 1988, it was written of him, "for technical and inventive contributions in the field of radar systems as well as for his conceptual and developmental work in spatial phase resonance technology." George married Roberta (Baron) Green in 1992 and he joined the Orlando B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1079 in 1993. After moving to Lake County,he became an associate member of the Eustis B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1578. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #766 for over 19 years. George was an avid computer whiz and could also fix just about everything around the house. He and Roberta both loved to dance, and could be found dancing every week. He also loved line dancing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd.
