

James "Jim" Robert Hinson, 89, born March 26, 1925 in New Harmony, IN died August 26, 2014. He served 3 years in the US Army (1943-1946) Medical Corps in WWII as a T5 Medical/Dental Technician in England, France, Luxembourg, and Germany and received the Good Conduct and Battle Star medals. He earned a BS Degree in Physical Therapy and a Masters Degree in Health Administration from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA. He served his community as Chief Physical Therapist at Florida Hospital Orlando from 1962-1974, Director of Physical Medicine from 1974-1977. He also served as associate director of Health Education from 1977-1986. After retirement, he worked in Physical Therapy for another 7 years. Then, he volunteered through the Chaplain's office to distribute a health magazine to each hospital unit. He also volunteered to help employees smile at his "one-liner" jokes. Left to celebrate his life and accomplishments are: his loving wife, E. Kathryn (Kathy) Hinson of Altamonte Springs, FL; two cousins- Mabel Ruth Small of Ft. Myers, FL and Jim Hinman of Ft. Branch, IN; as well as many wonderful in-laws, neighbors, and friends. Visitation will be held Sat., Aug. 30 from 5pm-7pm with Funeral Service to follow, Sun., Aug. 31 at 2pm, both at Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, 90 Weathersfield Ave., Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Interment will follow Service at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Forest City, FL. Please leave an online condolence to the family by signing the Guest Book below.
